'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the thrilling dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match ended with Galbraith briefly donning a supporter's spectacles following the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a powerful effort from 25 yards, and his teammate immediately hammered in the rebound before charging toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with the crowd swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory capped an unbelievable recovery given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. Amid the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory secured a upcoming fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with Jamie Donley's volley from about way out going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that far out," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right defensive wing after Orient changed formation. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who praised the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they understand how to dictate and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a popular figure across a couple of years at his former club and has rapidly replicated that in his new home. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without real physicality. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

National Team Success

He has demonstrated that growth for his team and nation, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including both legs fixtures against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

It has been a remarkable path for the kid from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's sole appearance for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was sealed owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "It was fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I knew I wasn't going to make it at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I thought I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to socialize with the teammates but I'm planning to be the following person to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with supporters on public transport after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
